God’s plan was not only to get the children of Israel OUT of Egypt, but PLANT them in their Promised Land.
Following their deliverance through the Red Sea, Moses and the children of Israel sang to the LORD….
“You will bring them in and plant them
In the mountain of Your inheritance,
In the place, O LORD, which You have made….”
(Exodus 15:17)
And once He planted them in their Land, God’s perfect will was that His people never leave. “Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more….” (2 Samuel 7:10; Amos 9:15)
Their eventual replanting in the Land is not a side interest, but at the very heart of God’s purposes. “…. I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.” (Jeremiah 32:41)
Just as God’s whole heart is devoted to Israel’s planting in the Land, eventually their whole hearts will turn back to Him. “‘For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. ‘Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” (Jeremiah 24:6, 7)
By the way, what is this territory called in the NEW TESTAMENT? “The Land of Israel.” (Matthew 2:19-20)
I’d love to hear your perspective. Drop me a line.
Absolutely clear view of how things were, are and will be, thanks Wayne
Thanks Gilly. Praying more will see it that way!
Yeshua, the Good News, repentance/returning/teshuvah, holiness/aliyah, echad: it’s all part of the same staggeringly beautiful picture. Revelation 21+22.
Amen Ben!
There really needs to be a book about Israel for “dummies” per se. I read everything I can on Israel, support Christians there, etc., butI feel so lost (I’ve evenread the Bible several times and still feel that way). I get many magazine’s on the topic, but most are way over my head and I went to college! HELP! Anything you can offer or suggest I’d appreciate! lmariposa@itctel.com.
Hi Leslie, My great friend Ron Cantor is a prolific writer on Israel and actually wrote a book called “Israel for Dummies” book. It might be out of print though. Check out his blog here: http://messiahsmandate.org/
It is sad when I meet Christians who written the Jews out of the equation. Yet it is Gods will to bless them in the end times when they will recognise the Lord as their saviour. The land question is also so important. It goes to the heart of, can God keep His word. If He cannot ensure the Jewish people get back their land then many end time events can not take place. It is also true to say that the promise is for ever.
Malcolm….it’s awesome to know that the God of Israel is a covenant-keeping God! Thanks for your insights.
Israel is God’s vehicle for world redemption! Israel’s journey is for the blessing of the world!
I have been a Christian most of my life and I’ve been completely ignorant of God’s master plan for His Holy Land. I am asking for a heart for Jerusalem so I can pray! God’s covenant with the Jews is unconditional. He is waiting for them to say yes to Him. Thank you all of you who are lifting up King Jesus and ministering the gospel in Israel. I pray for the Lord to strengthen and encourage you as you boldly and lovingly live Jesus!
Hi Lara, May your heart for Jerusalem grow exponentially in the coming days. We NEED your prayers!
